I've seen Korean people keep and eat jindogae dogs in the 4 years i've been here. Good luck to you.
My wife's family live in the country, and yes they have kept and eaten jindogae dogs. From what i've seen. |
What the hell is wrong with you? Why would you say something like that to him? You're disgusting.

I think this may be the vet association Tim was referring to, but it seems to provide the listings only for Yongsan-gu. If you lost your dog in Gangnam-gu, you'll have to contact the Gangnam-gu office to find out if she's being held at a pound or vet clinic somewhere. Please let us know how it goes ... poor dog. |

Thanks everyone for the links and helpful advice!
She was not microchipped as far as I know and had no identity tags on her at the time I lost her.
Here is a short update for all that have expressed sympathy and have given recommendations. I have continued to scour the area where she fled with no luck. I worked long hours today, but have some extra time tomorrow to go to both the vet's office and check with the public office. It's been a rough go the last fews days, and although I know my chances of getting her back are becoming very slim I will continue the efforts. Keep your fingers crossed for both Claire and myself, please! |

Good luck.
Try giving her photo to all the vets in your area. Somebody might bring her in sometime. |

Great news! One of my co-workers saw her this morning in the area around my school. I searched for her with another co-worker during lunch on foot. We saw her after nearly an hour of looking, but were unable to catch her at that time (she was running away down the street). I started the search again immediately after school with my gf in the same area. Again after looking for about an hour, she crossed an intersection in front of us. I was able to catch up to her and secure her this time. She is safe and back home. Thanks for everyone that gave advice and compassion. |

That's so wonderful! I can imagine how great it must feel to have her home. I always fear losing my little, skittish guy as well, what a nightmare in any case, but especially in a foreign country! |

That's great! I'm so glad you found Claire! I don't think I'd be able to survive here if I were to lose my Oskur Wiener. |

That's great news - you must be so relieved. Collar and microchip the order of the day tomorrow I imagine
Very nice of your work colleagues to keep an eye out and help you search too, some people wouldn't bother. |

But is the dog happy about being recaptured? Are you stingy w/ doggie treats...Setters? And, what about belly rubs? I heard you where cutting way back on them, no? I'd say you were very lucky this time, don't let it happen again! |
