1) I never literally work for 7 hours, while at work

2) I spend free afternoons doing absolutely nothing at all and get paid for it

3) When I attend open class, I get the rest of the afternoon off, and get paid for it

4) This is the only job I've ever had where I don't have to work (during the afternoon) and it is ok

5) I don't have to talk to anybody other than my co-teacher, I like the introvert approach

6) 14 days paid vacation plus 2 weeks for re-signing (I await my school's decision as regards that) equals 1 day shy of 5 weeks vacation. For this year, national holidays are roughly 11 days, which means in total this year, I get at least 7 weeks away from school

7) I get to behave like a complete idiot in class

Cool I have nice accommodation, near to the school

9) Easy access to the subway system

10) Positive responses from students when they see me, not all the time, but some of the time.

11) Being detached from my work colleagues, I'm not involved in any office politics

12) I don't work any weekends ever (my previous job at a call centre in England, involved working any day of the week)

13) I never attend those long meetings for teachers, which all other teachers have to attend

14) During Winter, Spring and Summer camps I teach alone and have every afternoon free, to do nothing at all and get paid for it

15) I post mediocre posts regularly on Dave's ESL Cafe and get paid while doing so

Life isn't so bad after all now, is it?!!! Wink

Pretty nice. And to think, there are much better jobs in education out there! Most of my long time friends here would consider your job a lot of work!
