He says he threatened to sue them. In Canada, threatening to sue someone just gets a laugh. Troll.

Labelling everyone trolls is just so old. Troll, troll, troll.

The guy doesn't know what he's doing. If he was trolling I doubt he'd sound so honest. I say it's 50/50 he got screwed in the interview. Or he's just a freak show. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if his story was actually legitimate.

Threatening to sue someone doesn't make you a troll. So stop flaming people with that label just because you have nothing meaningful to say.

I'm saying he never went to the embassy and never had an interview. He made the whole thing up. That's meaningful, I think.

The interview was quite thorough, and they asked me the same stuff that a school director would ask me... like why u want to go to korea, how would you treat students who misbehave, etc...

What the hell kind of question is that? They are asking specific questions about the job. How is any immigration official qualified to be asking questions like that? This country is still so infantile, I just hope one day it grows up.

As far as I know, nobody who has signed a contract with EPIK has been asked to do a consular interview.

This alone makes the OP's story completely implausible.

It would have to be like most countries. Once they tell you no the chances of ever getting a yes is slim to none. As for coming and teaching on a tourist visa. Please don't.

There are other countries out there and we are having enough crap going on here because of illegal and just plain stupid teachers. We don't need any more trouble.

As was most likely said before you can get hired by anyone it just doesn't guarantee you a visa. I think it would be very hard to get one now that they have seen you face to face and turned you down.

You can try again that might be your best bet but be more prepared this time.

Now I make a heck of a lot of spelling and grammar mistakes, but that is just because I am lazy. The OP is not a native speaker of English. If MissSeoul wasn't such an obvious sock, I would say it was her sock. However, even she/he has better grammar than the OP.

Man, I don't know you so I take your story at face value. So you want to come to Korea and eat sam gyop sal and bang Korean girls. Whoopee.

The problem you describe in your op is not inconceivable. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised at all if some deranged Korean ajummah sat you down in the embassy and flat out refused you a visa for no reason at all. Although this does seem highly unlikely.

To call you a troll just seems retarded to me. The irony is that these keyboard warriors who cruise around on forums calling everyone trolls are trolls themselves. They flame everyone from simpel spelling mistakes to their points of view. You could start a thread entitled 'Fluffy Kittens Are Cute' and by page 5 you'd have a political argument, several know-it-alls making offhand remarks, angry gyopos telling everyone to go home and general mayhem.

You should have given up when you started getting flamed. There's no point. Getting angry is definitely not the thing to do.

As a fellow 'expat reject' I'm joining the flame gang and calling you down you moron. Stay in Canada and try to get laid there. Go to Safeway and buy some bacon. Save up your money and go rent yourself a girlfriend and get her to cook it for you. Closest thing you're going to get to Korea.
