Your price is about what it costs to get a NEW entry level core2duo machine now-a-days (with monitor).
If you would consider an offer in the neighborhood of about 120-150k won I would be interested. |

Just curious, because that seems like a fair offer, how much is a used 19" LCD go for now? 100k? Anyway, it seems like the computer itself is worth $50?
I guess that means mine is worth about $25 lol. |

Well the price second hand is not as black and white as Spliff and others make out.
There are many people who dont know how to build one from parts, cant order online, dont want to go to Yongsan and deal with dodgy Korean sellers etc... who would be happy to get one from 'across the road' or from a friend of a friend. So they will not mind paying few extra dollars for the ease of purchase.
Anyway price is dropped to 300,000 ONO.
So sometimes the 50% off retail is just individual |

In other words, if you're mentally challenged, buy my overpriced dinosaur and you'll be happy as long as you can figure out how to turn it on...... |

Yes and no.
Just because you know absolutely nothing about computers, doesnt make you mentally challenged. Especially in Korea where buying a bottle of water can be a challenge!
Many people could some you are mentally challenged cause you dont know how to grow tomatoes and carrots, sew your own clothes, etc etc
Having no Korean ability can be a huge hinderence. And plenty of foriegners living in Itaewon seem to hate shopping outside of the English speaking world of Yongsan. |

You can buy a superior system BRAND NEW from any of the REPUTABLE dealers for less than 200k + monitor ( 대원컴퓨터 DW19WB 176k won
http://search.danawa.com/dsearch.php?ut=0&k1=DW19WB&x=0&y=0 ).
Intel Pentium Dual Core E2140
1 gig RAM
320 gig HDD
DVD-combo drive
GeForce 6200 128mb video
J-tech, Son-in Plaza, across the rail yard from Yongsan station.Look for the building with the large Gigabyte sign on it.
Good luck and my original offer of 120k still stands if you change your mind.

A P4 system is ancient. The used monitor might be worth a little money, but the system is virtually without value. |

exactly...today you need to think in terms of number of cores...not Ghz.
My turion64x2 would kick the pants off ur pc...and it is VERY cheap....
My sens g10 desknote...is worth around 300k now..might be worth less..WAS 1.1mill when i bought it last year in the summer.
So um...your pc is VERY expensive...with low end performance for what is on the market these days. |

Daves is very much a buyers market for computers. If I was you I'd try to sell it to someone coming into the country. Someone who doesn't game or need much from a PC. On Dave's there's plenty of people who have been around for a long time and know how to get the bargins. There's also a lot of people who are leaving Korea soon and need to sell. Classic case of motivated sellers and unmotivated buyers.
If you want to move the system, just sell it for what you can get. If you want to go back home, consider taking the monitor at least with you and sell the PC for beer money as that's all you're going to get here. |

A monitor may hold it's value much better than the actual computer will. Your friend's problem is that if the monitor is as old as the computer there have been a lot of improvements in monitors in the number of years that have passed since this computer was cutting edge.
Today, more technologically advanced 19in LCD monitors seem to start at about 150~160k. |
