...and South Korea would never allow the American national anthem to be played on its soil.
I reckon the US should dump the south and make friends with the north. ROk has been a deadweight on America for too long. |

What a load of bull.
I have been to 3 seperate sporting events where the American national anthem was played here in Korea and the crowd didn't even react. |

Both countries are considered one by each country.
Refugees from the North are automatically given ARCs, and and ROK citizens can be kept in DPRK. There is only one Korea, just having a long family arguement! |

Check up on your history: the country was temporarily separated for administrative purposes. They were supposed to be unified for an election shortly afterward, but the USSR didn't allow this to happen. |

I started to write a long response, but I gave up after I realized it probably won't matter.
The OP and a couple other posters have an idea of what they are talking about. The others don't know shit and should go read a book.

edit: I was a little harsh. Why don't we all have a reading hour tomorrow at the Seoul Metropolitan Library and get to know each other?
I will be the guest reader. |

I wonder what the orchestra will play. Maybe arirang, and the Korean national anthem. Too bad they will be locked in their hotel rooms, and only have their hotel rooms windows to view the city. |

I believe that they are given citizen ID cards and not ARCS. They aren't considered aliens. |

those guys are band nerds. they are used to being locked in their rooms looking at porn and spanking their monkeys. only this time the roooms will each have about a dozen hidden cameras, this should be a shock to those northern monitors. |

That isn't really accurate. Who told you that? Here's an overview:

What isn't told is that Rhee was the U.S. pawn mainly because he was educated in the U.S., and they believed he could be controlled. Rhee left a terrible legacy in South Korea, and there are no good memories of his reign. Kim Il-Sung was the more popular choice, but due to U.S. intervention, elections were to be unfair, and that is why the liberals boycotted.
The country may have become united under one leader had the U.S. not become embroiled in foreign politics. This sort of thing, of course was repeated in Iran, Nicaragua, Panama, Venezuela, and in other places.
