|
|
It's been a looonng time since I took the Beetle to Japan, and - unfortunately - the later departures were booked on Sat, so I am on the 9am departure.
Can someone give me some fast/easy directions for these 2, and approximate time for each???
Busan Railway station -> JRBeetle
and
Busan Bus Terminal -> JRBeetle
I will probably wind up having to take the last late bus from Seoul to Busan Friday night, and then killing some time before the Fukuoka run Sat morn. But not such a big deal, really.
Regards,

From Busan station, go outside and take an immediate left. There is a bus stop in front of the Arirang Hotel on the left. You can take a bus from there right to the ferry port. The bus will be marked as such. 900 won, I think.
Busan's bus terminals are in the far north/west of the city, so you take the subway from them to (???? - 1 stop south of Busan station) and just go east to the port.
don't know about any buses direct from the bus stations..... |

There's a subway station about a 5 minute walk from the ferry terminal. I can't remember what it's called, sorry. |

Just take a taxi from the Train station, the ferry terminal is really close. Maybe a 2 minute ride. Taxis on the left as you leave train station.
Bus station - don't know. |

walk downstairs & outside, look to the left towards the hotel. You will see a taxi stand there; 1800w if the traffic was clear like this morning - probably a person could just walk over there in 15-20 minutes; the maps at the taxi stand/city bus tour stop there would show you how..
There is supposedly a cheap shuttle bus that runs over there from 7:25am, but i never saw one.
***If you get there (Busan train station) early in the morning (4:30 early for me), do NOT make the mistake I did, and decide to hang around the ticketing area until you want to go over to the ferry station (thinking that there must be more stuff around the train station than the ferry station)!!! The place was overrun with drunken homeless/MHMR men, breaking soju bottles, 1 guy who was yelling/crying about non-stop, and they did not turn/keep the heat or the PAVV tvs on - apparently to try to discourage same guys from hanging around.
2 1/2 hours of it ground on my soul - and I found the international ferry terminal smaller, cozy, warm, and without that other element. Wish I had gone there straightaway.
As for the bus? it would come (a long-distance bus) to Nopo-dong bus terminal, in the faaaaarrrrr north of Busan proper. You would be right at the subway station, but you'd be on that subway 21 or 22 stops to get to the harbor.
regards,
G. |
