say "changdong" to the local taxi man. find the lotteria fast food joint. notice the alley across the street. go down the alley. notice "joyce's"- one of masan"s two western bars. god place. keep walking. next section of alley down see sign on right says " mexico". enter. eat. enjoy. go back to joyce's.
PM for private tours. my fees are cheap. quesadillas sound fair. |

This is how i find it...
*When you get to masan get a taxi to Changdong but say Core bakery(코아 빵집). All the taxis know where it is, a bit of a Masan instituation.
*The taxi should drop you off under an arch that runs across the street. Look for the pedestrian mall across the street from the bakery and walk up it.
*About halfway up the mall you will come across a "SHOW" telephone shop on the left, turn left down the little alley just before it.
*When you start walking you should be able to see the sign "MEXICO" and you are there... |
Thanks for the excellent directions. Managed to get down there on Saturday evening and really enjoyed it.
Will definitely be going back soon. |

| The place is solid. Don't go expecting a mexican miracle but hey, we're in Korea. The people are nice and its also kind of a neat area of the city. Last time i was there we found a vintage clothe shop and a nice foreigner bar called Joyces right in that area. Give it a look. |

I concur. Joyces is an excellent watering hole. Having spent the last 6-months down our local with nothing but (s)hite beer and Korean Eurotrance music for company, walking into Joyces was a like taking acid for the first time - amazing.
I think that we should compile a Korean watering hole sticky. I'd love to hear about all those great little bars etc in those little backwater places throughout SK. |

backwater! this is "dream bay masan" doncha know? like ervery other city in korea we have marketing that tells us we are special. where do you think hite comes from? or C1 soju? the mongol navy built their fleets here that were destroyed by the divine wind "kamikaze" in their failed invasions of japan.
just because many of the factories and our students and their familes are relocating to changwon and the new highway bridge completely avoids masan doesn't make us a backwater...yet
mexico, joyce's and jazz. the holy trinity of masan. thanks for stoppin by.
ya'll come back now, ya hear! |

LOL
I wasn't implying that magical "Dream Bay' was backwater (have you ever been to 'Colourful' Daegu? A word of warning if you haven't... it isn't), rather that I'd love to see a sticky dedicated to of all those excellent foreigner bars up and down the country. |

Masan rocks.
I bet all those 'squares' up in Seoul are wishing they'd chosen a school in the sexy south now.
I'm loving it down here. Masan shall now officially be known as the Korean Riviera. |
