Help!!!!
Excuse my ingorance, but I need expertise advice about cars.I know nothing about cars and I need to purchase one soon!!
Basically, i need something that runs well, gets reasonable good gas miliage, is doable with car insurance prices, and is not gonna give me a headache with alot of expensive repairs. I had a Honda Accord in the States and no, never again.
I have been looking at a Daewood Prince ( 1994 model). Is this a good car? Anyone have good experience

Right!

A 14 year old Daewoo will give you nothing but headaches!!

Korean cars became quality, reliable, vehicles around 6-7 years ago. Look for a car made in that time range.

A low mileage Avante would be a good buy.

Clickable.

You may want to look at some of the threads dealing with accident liability
on this forum.

You could be held liable for big money and or criminally responsible even
in an accident that is not your fault. Thirty percent of a alot of money can
be a lot of money.

There's a second hand car district in Seoul, set up like a swap meet with cars for sale.

I went there recently offering around 1 - 1.3 million, and found there were a few pretty good deals to be had.

It's at Janghanpyong Stn. Line 5.

I had a 1998 Honda Accord in the States. The automatic transmission shredded at 86,000 miles. On top of that, there have been numerous minor things that have gone bad. Headlight bulbs going out after 3months of use, automatic door locks not working, power windows locking up, etc...etc...

I did research and it seems the 1998-2003 model accords had some pretty shoddy Automatic transmissions. Also, around that time was when they started making the Accords in the US. A trusted friend of mine thats worked at a few Toyota/Honda Dealerships told me to be wary of Japanese cars made in the US. You can check whether a car is imported or has been built in the US by looking at the VIN.

I, too, will never buy a Honda. The Honda's built in the 80's were remarkable cars that just kept running. Honda's quality has been slipping, but Toyota has still been top notch.
