Do I need a special visa to travel outside of korea? For example. I will be getting an E2 visa this month. Am I allowed to travel outside of Korea with this or do I need another Visa? I'm confused... |

depends on your visa. when you get your visa, take a look at the part that says entries. if it has an S then you would need to apply for a multiple entry visa when you get to korea. if it has an M, then you're good to go. from my understanding, Americans usually get a M, and i'm pretty sure everyone else gets a single entry. |

Look at your visa. If it is multiple entry (under the "entries" there is an "M") then you can travel at will for the duration of the visa.
If it is a single entry visa ( "S" ) then you need to stop at the immigration office (the one at the airport is OK) and get a re-entry permit stamped into your passport. Depending on your nationality there may be a fee of 30k won for a single re-entry stamp or 50k won for a multiple re-entry stamp.

Be aware that the line for the airport immigration office can be VERY long, so give yourself plenty of time (3-4hours plus!) before your flight. |
