My school principal is everywhere. I can't turn around without running into him about the school. We've got four or five floors in use at my school all the time. It's as though he can float through walls like you could in the old PC game Doom.

He's a great guy and has been especially thoughtful to me; he bought me coffee cups from his old university's gift shop. He picks up trash and tends to the shrubbery around the school like a gardener. If he did Thai Chi with his eyes closed in the courtyard during lunchtime while picking up trash, that would take the cake.

This afternoon I was thinking about going home early, without telling anybody. Soon after that thought, the Principal came into my office. He checks everything regularly.

I just know if I pulled a fast one, chances are the Principal would notice!
