Sorry if this was answered directly before - I couldn't find it...I have had E2s before, but have been in and out of Korea for the past year, so last one was cancelled last Feb.

I was in Korea digging up my new job, and got all my materials processed in Korea.

For my new job, starting really soon...would I need to go to my home country for the intervew and the visa? Or can I go on a visa run?

Anyone been in this position?

Have you successfully completed a full year on a single E-2? In other words, stayed in Korea and worked for the full term of an E-2? If so, you should be able to do a visa run. If not, they may not let you.

I just got my second visa issued thru the NYC Korean Consulate. I had a visa issuance number, worked just as well as a visa issuance number did last year.

The person handling it said "Have you taught in Korea before?" I said I had. "How long?" I responded "Last year." He said I didn't need an interview then. He didn't ask for verification that I'd spent last year in Korea, but the old visa was, of course, still in my passport. He didn't look.
