|
|
Alright, on Sunday I am making my trek to the airport, with a year's worth of luggage, lots of stuff to carry, a puppy and a puppy crate.
I've heard that sometimes taking a puppy on the limousine bus can be a not so great experience, as some drivers are asses and make the dog go under the bus with the luggage while it gets all moved around, and is in the dark and super scary.
I don't want to traumatize the dog any sooner than her getting on the plane, so I'd like to call a jumbo taxi to pick me up at my house, and take me, my dog, my luggage etc. to the airport.
Yes, I realize it won't be cheap. I'm going to allow about 50,000won for it. I'm not asking for people to tell me how expensive it will be. I realize that.
What I'd like to know is a number I can call (where they will hopefully understand English haha) to get one of those jumbo taxis (van sized) to come pick me up at my place to take me to Incheon.
Can anyone help me out? I'd REALLY appreciate it!
Thanks a million!!!

I used one of those vans when I moved. Call the Seoul Help Center for Foreigners 02-731-6800. They'll book the van for you. Good luck! |

Did you have to call far in advance? Can I call that day in the morning or can it wait till an hour before I want it to come?
Thanks! |

I called a couple of days in advance because I had to move at a specific time. I couldn't say how early you need to call them - I'd call the center and ask them just to be safe. Going to the airport in a panic is no fun!! |

hmmm .... i paid 45,000 won in 2004 for a normal taxi to take me from dongdaemun, seoul to incheon airport, and so i assume it will be a little more now. never thought of shipping some crap home in boxes before leaving for good? i shipped 4 boxes of books and crap to avoid dealing with that stuff at the airport .... took 3 months to get the states on the slow boat but it was pretty cheap. |

I did ship home two boxes of stuff.
Like I said, I'll have two large suitcases to deal with, my laptop bag, purse, puppy, and crate. That's a lot for a gal like me. I need to taxi it anyway, cause I don't want to have some jerk of a driver tell me the dog has to go under the bus with the baggage. I want to be able to have her in my lap and out of her crate as long as possible, because the plane ride is long enough.
Thanks though. |

I don't know how to get them, but there are normally vans etc waiting at the airport. When i came back from a trip to Japan I took one back from a guy in a van. The cost for a minivan/van size vehicle was about W30,000. Not bad really. standard taxi was about W18,000 to get to the airport.
But this may not help you because I am Busan... |

uh, you do know there are restrictions on how much weight and number of pieces of luggage you can board with, right? |
