Anyone know where I can buy fresh basil, thyme, or oregano in Seoul?
I've found fresh coriander but I have to travel a while to get it, it was available at the local Emart but not any longer.
I know this is a stab in the dark, but the top class international restaurants must have access to these items, surely they don't just fly them in??? |

| I've seen them selling basil, thyme and rosemary plants. I haven't seen oregano but they probably have it. I've always found fresh herbs easy to grow and less wasteful and readily available since I'll only take what I need at the time. |

| No, I just bought the plants. Sometimes, you'll come across trucks selling herbs. It's Winter now so maybe they're not around. You can also try going to flower shops and see if they have them. |

You can find rosemary at almost any flower shop even now. In the spring they will also have thyme, usually (always?) lemon thyme. I've never seen basil or oregano here.
It isn't exactly legal to have the seeds sent over, but if your mom pops a few packs in a letter and doesn't mention it on the outside, who will know? That's how I got my seeds. |

I noticed yesterday that Hannam market has fresh herbs. I've only seen rosemary plants being sold here but then again I live out in the boonies.
I agree with the other posters- Get some seeds sent over. Basil grows really well here. |

you could try the yangjae market. i was able to buy fresh planted basil, rosemary, mint, and some other herbs( no oregano ) last summer and fall, but not sure about now. anyways, it's a cool place to check out if you like plants.
take line 3 to yangjae station.
get out at exit 7.
walk 2 km or take the green bus 4424, 4422, 4432. the market is next to a newer looking building called AT center.
go to the south building of the second row of buildings.
the herbs were 2,000 won each last time i bought there. |
