When I started my first gig, I was getting paid 1.5MIL a month, I worked Saturdays, I had split shifts, NO vacation days, I walked uphill both ways and on and on...

After a year, I knew the ropes a little better and got a better gig. Then, I got an even better gig. Now, almost 8 years later, I have THE gig.

Newbies, take your lumps and stop whining.

Thank you.

Note - Maybe I'm just an old, crusty, grumpy old-timer, but the whining from newbies on Dave's has reached ridiculous heights. "Oh no!!! I have to work 9 40-minute classes a day PLUS preparing! AND I have to take attendance every class - Woe is me..." Rolling Eyes

Good point.
Still, let's not confuse "taking your lumps" with "getting your arse reamed". There are times when newbies really do get screwed.

Maybe it's spring and the yellow dust is doing funny things, but this is just the latest in a line of things that are giving me wood these last few days.

It's pretty good advice. All you'll ever find in Korea is the sweetening syrup or at best the little sachets, so it's a good idea to bring a few cubes with you when you come over. They're not just for ponies you know.

And you can forget about finding organic, unprocessed, brown sugar.

I'm not sure if it's the whine or the new...

If you get lumps eat Kimchi.

Korea is as sweet as it's coffee.

Nuff said!

I don't get the logic of your argument.

P1. You had it bad
P2. It got better for you
C1. Newbies shouldn't complain.

Do you realize why that's stupid?

Just because you had it bad means nothing, and personally I couldn't give a shit about what you went through, nor does anybody else. Nobody cares that you made 1.5M won per month. It doesn't matter and it doesn't make a point.

Then there's a tonne of backslappers saying "good point" after your post. What point? "Don't whine?" How is that a "point"? It's just an order. There would have to be some type of logical argument with a conclusion that isn't just a baseless commandment in order for a point to exist.
