SLI is when you take two video cards and install them in the PC and link them, theoretically giving your PC two cards from which to work. HOwever, SLI is not more powerful than a single upper limit card.

FOr example, two of my 7900GTX cards (if you SLI them) will not be as powerful as the 8800GTX card. It'll be close, but not as powerful and less efficient.

You could grab that, but beware, I've read that that power supply is not very good. I read it on [H]ard OCP or whatever it's called. Go check out their review of the X3 where they talk about the X2.

What, in that thing? Man, nothing less than the 8800GTX. If you go big, go all out. A lot of people buy great processor but little ram. A lot of people buy great motherboards but crappy processors. A lot of people....you get the point.

If you buy big, you must buy big everything!!!!

SLi 8800gtx is just ridiculous, I don't care what res you're running. *any mention of Crysis is strictly forbidden, nothing currently available to the public can run that at high res/ full eye candy with high framerates* SLi 8800gt with some overclocking would more than suit the needs of damn near anyone.
If you really want the MONSTER dual graphic card setup, its gotta be the XFire HD3870X2 setup... 4 gpu's man!!! And, since ATi released the Cat8.3 drivers the other day, it has cleared up alot of issues with that config as well.

I find the PowerColor HD 3870 x2 with GDDR4 quite interesting. Naturally it is not the fastest out there, as nVidia holds the speed record right now and has only 256 +256 bit memory bus (why, oh why?), but it looks quite promising. GDDR4 and two cores on one board can't be that bad, now can it? Plus, it has three DVI connectors and HDMI connector as well!

More can be read from HERE. Waiting for some benchmarks...

i would go for 2 x 250GB HDD on raid 0. still get the 500GB of space and a lot faster read/write speeds.

The Q6700 processor is a bit of a lame duck. It's twice the price of a Q6600 yet, with just a little tweak, the Q6600 could out-perform it.

Same goes for the 8800GTX. It's a lot of card, but it's a lot of money too. The HD3870x2 matches, or betters it, for a lot less dosh.

Don't like that system CL. It's very 2007.
