I'm not used to this cold dry weather. I've got the flu at the moment and instead of asthma flaring up its hit my vocal chord instead. My skin isn't looking to good either.

My friend has a suggesting that heating up my kitchen basin with boiling water before going to bed is a good way to rehumdify my apartment.

Anyone got any other suggestions?

Easy - buy a humidifier - i've seen them for about 30,000 in carrefour, and various other places. Use a good moisteriser, drink plenty of fluids, and maybe a moisturising mask.

Just pop your rice cooker on for a while about half filled with water.

hmm, ' haven't thought of that, good suggestion.

my son has asthma too. his doctor in the states said that humidifiers were a trigger because bacteria grows in them which is why i've hesitated to opt for this simple solution.

one thing i is dry our clothes on the bedroom floors while we sleep.

instead of heating up your kitchen basin just buy a humidifier... Laughing

It aint that complicated. With the size of appartments most teachers have a small humidifier will do the trick.

Good luck Exclamation

Yeah I've got pretty bad asthma which is flaring up again. Looks like I have a choice between sounding like marge simpson or darth vader.

From what I understand, some asthmatics respond very well to humidity. Just going into a steamy bathroom clears them right up. On the other hand, humidity actually causes asthma attacks for others. You just have to be aware of which type of asthmatic you are. Also, it's pretty normal for your body to go through an adjustment period when you move to a new climate. Keep your immune system strong by eating lots of green vegetables, getting plenty of sleep, and not stressing out.

And if all else fails, call your mom just cuz it always feels good Very Happy

I was never able to survive Korean winter (or Canadian winter forthat matter) without a humidifier- pick one up, there are lots to choose from at a variety of prices. The best deal (in SE Seoul anyway) I found was at Wal-Mart on dogokdong-gil in Kangnam.

Well, depends on which one you get. If you get one of the "hot" ones, it will boil off the bacteria, I believe. The hot ones are less expensive anyway. The cold ones (which are ultrasonic, and much better, in my opinion) wouldn't do that... BUT you are supposed to buy a solution you pour in the water anyway. Most people never do this, but you should. It also helps cut down on calcium and other minerals in the water -- helping your humidifier to last longer.

By the way, in Korean, "humidifier" is "KA-SOUP-GHEE".
