Since yesterday, every time I try to open up Word this message comes up

Quote:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!
Program: C:Program Files...WINWORD.EXE

abnormal program termination

And then it closes up completely

I think it is because I closed Word down while it was still in full screen mode because when I try to open up Word now, it is in full screen mode.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm downloading OpenOffice now anyway just in case, but it would be nice to have Word working again.

Can you use Windows Goback feature to return to a previous date? See if that helps, but I bet you might have to reinstall.

He means system restore.

That should be under START>ALL PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>SYSTEM TOOLS>SYSTEM RESTORE.

You need to choose a date before you start having that problem. It's quite straight forward.

Will I lose all the things I've saved since then if I do this?

You will lose any programs that you've installed but not data that you've saved (for example a word document that you made today).

Quote:
System Restore does not affect your personal data files (such as Microsoft Word documents, browsing history, drawings, favorites, or email) so you won't lose changes made to these files.
