|
|
My boss just gave me a computer and a giant flatscreen monitor that sits at the front of my class.
I want to download some stuff for my students to watch in class, preferably that will help with phonics and vocabulary. I'm teaching young students, so it would be nice if there was some stuff with basic phonics lessons. (like what 'A' sounds like, etc).
If you could suggest some websites, or any torrents to download, it would be greatly appreciated.
*please only post suggestions for downloading or purchasing ESL materials for my class computer; no theories on education, my personal grammar usage or my lack of an avator, etc.
Thanks |

I make all of my own powerpoints.
I suggest you check out efl classroom 2.0 that is always mentioned around here. |

| If you google "phonics files download" or "phonics lessons" you'll find some links to audio files and whatnot. I'd try to get my hands on some Sesame Street if I were you, though - they have tons of cartoons that focus on phonics. (You can find a lot of clips on Youtube, come to think of it.) |

Try http://eflclassroom.ning.com
Award winning, thousands of click and play videos, flash, stories , games.
Make your own classroom page/account and that way the students all using the same account id/password can repeat the material/activities you do in class.
Make sure you visit "Dave" our bot and have a chat
I'll soon have a nice directory for Public School teachers to get instant powerpoints for each grade level. This will help them get what they need quickly....

mes-english.com
kr.kids.yahoo
The yahoo is in Korean, but if you search around it a bit there are songs, stories (all with animated cartoons) in English.
Go to the little house icons about half-way down the screen, I forget which one (4th.) but you can check them out. You click on that, and then go to the icon with the teddy bear reading an ABC book, that takes you to the English stories.
There are a lot more things in English that I haven't discovered yet, so you can search around a bit and find more.
There are some English and korean children's songs if you click on the 2nd. house (on the home page) and then go to the Abc -teddy bear, some of these are good, some are not.
Anyway, I hope this is helpful. |

definitely try this site and i also find this one really good too:
http://www.esnips.com/user/gepikteacher
i would also suggest that you start making powerpoints yourself, and you can always play some short youtube videos in class (just make sure you preview them first...) |
