Oh, thank you for....what'd you do?

I just meant that I spent my time in Korea never studying the language, but only this past semester (more so to kill free time)....and got into the Adv. level no problem. How? I spent time with Koreans where I had no English crutch.

I thought this might be useful.

Shoo-oosh,

Ryst

Hello, Shawner!

See the 6-item menu at the top of the screen?
Click on Bogi (V), which is the third item.
This will give you a drop-down menu.
On this drop-down menu, click on Inkoding (D).
This will give you another drop-down menu.
On this drop-down menu, click on Hangeul.

I learned all this the same way you did: by posting a query on this message board.

All right, let's clear this up:

Ryst Helmet said:

"I suggest just spending time with Koreans who speak jack-all of English. "

to which Tomato said:

"Ryst Helmut, thank you for the suggestion, but I can't even stand to look at Koreans who speak to me in English, much less associate with them."

Then I told Tomato that jack-all means nothing and that he had misunderstood what you had said.
But I think we are all misunderstanding each other here anyway...I should've made it clearer that I was speaking to Tomato.
Embarassed
I think the others are laughing at us.

I think most of you are missing T's important point which is:

One last question: does anyone know where I can get a complete list of irregular verbs and their irregularities?

I haven't seen any "complete" list, but I've been bits and pieces of it in different books. It might be fun to figure it out ourselves. The first thing you'd need to do is to identify the different types of irregular verbs. These come to mind:
1. , ݴ
2. 尡, ,
3. ,
5. ...

Then after we make a list of the different irregular verbs, we can run them through their changes.

Interesting idea?

The encoding option works for me on most of this thread, but not Ryst's and Seoulmon's posts...what's up with that?

(to ask) + (if) = (if someone asks)
(to bite) + (if) = (if someone bites)

This just in from the g/f ( my favourite reference ! )

= but more natural is 
 = no other choice

You're right that  is more common that (although both can be used), but then it wouldn't have served the purpose of my example, which was to show the difference between those particular types of verb.

What I was getting at is that putting in or leaving out the "" can sometimes change the meaning of your sentence.

I use a mac, and Safari. Guess that must be it.

There are a lot of "sharing" problems (sound files for instance) but I was glad to have been brand loyal when all my pc-using friends got ate by that worm virus that was chewing up windows stuff.
