My new boyfriend likes to lift weights and he buys his protein flex whey at a small store in Bupyeong subway station market. If you are a weightlifter and you need this powder, get yourself to Bupyeong, station 152 on the #1 Seoul subway line. To get to this store you exit the subway line and walk past Lotteria (on your left). Then, you walk about 50 meters, and then make a right and just keep walking. You'll pass many shops that sell clothes and phones. Look for shop C-41. There are other products you can buy for lower prices than anywhere else, but here's
what my boyfriend buys and he swears it's the cheapest he's seen in Korea. He buys protein flex whey 2300g for 65,000 won. It has 30g of protein per serving. If you workout at the gym, you'll probably find something there you'll like. |

Another option is ordering from one of the Korean sites if you can go navigate the site or get some help doing it. The shipping is only 5,000W, just a little more than your trip out into town and the prices are usually fairly low.
example: http://www.maxpowershop.com/
5,000W shipping, from the States, variety of goods. |

Forget about that go to www.bodybuilding.com and order it online... Buy a LOT of it like 15 pounds of it....
If you're going to be here a long time then buying it here is a waste of money... W65,000 for 2.3 kg's is a rip off....
Buying it from America and shipping it over is far more cost effective than buying it here. You need a lot of protein if you're building muscle so you may as well buy a lot of it.
Also bodybuilding dot com is PHENOMINAL!!!! It's easy to use, ships LIGHTNING speed and you won't find cheaper shipping! |

hey, what do you muscle heads think about the use of creatine?
Do you think it works in building muslce or just a scam?
Also, I have been told by guys that protein whey is a scam and that if you're eating lots of protein - chicken, fish, egg whites - you don't need to take proteitn.
What think? |

Yeah, I was in Suwon this weekend and saw a store selling whey and other nutritional supplements. They had a 5 lb tub of ON whey for 67,000. I bought 22lbs online for 120,000. I'd recommend buying online unless you like paying 4 times the price. |

I can attest to pretein. It works.
Creatine is ok for some not for others. I don't care for the water retention.
Chicken, fish, eggs contain protein same as in whey. Its ok to do solids, but when you want a certain amount of protein with in alloted Caloric limits its a problem. Alsoyou can't cut as nicely properly with solids you never get the pure shreded look, to look superhuman shakes are the way to go.
What I think. I think your asking a question that you are about to open a whole can of warms.
I also think that your questions have nothing pertaining to the OP. |

Yes this should really be in a different thread, but I have a couple things to say.
1. Creatine has no nutritional value. It's for instant recharging of ATP, which can help you lift harder and theoretically help you bulk up faster.
2. I have yet to see a "shred" of evidence that you need shakes or whey to look shredded. If you're getting your protein from high-fat sources I could see how it might inhibit that goal, but you shouldn't be doing that anyway.
P.S.
The sources you mentioned are NOT the same as whey. They each have their own combinations of amino acids, and they're all different than whey which happens to be made of the "fastest" mix of proteins.

To answer shim's question:
No, you don't need whey. However, it will get protein into your system faster and may get you more muscle growth per workout. The best combination (in theory at least) would be whey after workouts and casein (a "slow" protein) before bed. |

The shipping is very expensive ($50-60) and it takes a long time. I have recently learned that mass119.co.kr. has most of what I look for through bodybuilding.com. BSN brand powders (Cell-mass, NO-explode, etc.) they have it all there. It arrives within 24 hours and delivery is cheap. |

Go to speedns or mass119 (i think that is the right name). You can get 5kg of whey for 133,000 which works very good in comparison to the UK. But I understand that supps are a lot cheaper in the US / North America region so I understand the gripes one may have.
Regarding the question asked earlier, it's whole diet that counts: overall different proteins (or sources of..) are more preferable as you wil invariably consume a wider amount of aminos. If you think that by having one whey shake is gonna get you super cut though, think again.
Whey is just another protein source: but its short prep time, convenient to carry around and can be consumed within a few minutes hence its popularity. |
