I'm a big fan of winking used to clue someone in or something similar but I feel like I'm hearing more and more people say its creepy no matter what the situation. This makes me sad because I think it's great when used appropriately. Putting up this poll to see where Davers stand on it.

P.S.
I don't wink at all in Korea precisely because I don't want to offend or creep anyone out.

Winking is never creepy, even as a come on. You forgot to put that option in, so I didn't vote in your poll
Have you noticed that Koreans and Chinese don't know how to wink? I am a winker and when I wink at people, here or in China, they just can't wink back. They screw up both eyes and then open one of them again. It's quite funny, but it's not winking.

Some people get creeped out way too easily. Perhaps they should stay at home.

Strange, the posting seems mostly in favor of the wink but every vote except mine is against it...

Korean girls go nuts when you wink at 'em (nuts in a nice way). The Anne Robinson wink is also excellent. I wink at my favorite students as in "great job!"

3 people thus far have voted creepy and to you I say simply this: poo to you with knobs on! Mr. Green

kiwis wink a lot in a harmless, fun, 'top of the morning to ya' kind of way Wink Its rarely creepy, flirtatious. I like it. Especially when its accompanied with a click of the tongue, know what i mean?
I wink, and I'm female Smile

Certain winks are appropriate for certain people. It's like finding the right hat to match the right head.

My answer is simply "no" (it is a yes-no question, you know: "Is winking creepy?") and therefore I cannot vote in this poll.

the poll is poorly made, ergo no post and no sparkle

Thai's got the one eyebrow up and down action...I've never been able to master it.

It just takes a bit of practice. I can handle that one.

Well it's completely coherent, provided you can read English. As far as I can see the only major deficiency is that there is no option for "never," but I took that option to be obviously false. If you disagree you can just choose the last option which is nearly the same thing anyway.

But furthermore, even if the poll is poorly made it doesn't explain people posting one thing and voting the opposite. (Unless I worded it backwards, which I didn't do.)

Perhaps I'll make a dummy-proof one and mods can delete this one if they feel like it.
