I'm looking for a Masters of Education program, online, that I can get in about 1 year.
Anyone know of a program like that? |

USQ, but they are starting to come across as a degree mill and some schools are beginning to not accept MAs from there. |

Hmmm. Well I'd like to get a fairly respected one.
Uni-of-Phx says theirs is self-paced. Is it possible to speed it up if you have more time? Or take two classes at once? Anyone know? |

My friend is just about to finish her M Ed in second language acquisition studies (or similar) from the University of Pheonix. She had a reasonable uni job in Korea throughout her period of study and still had to work pretty hard for two years to finish the program.
I am about to finish a 2 year M Ed from the University of Waikato in NZ. From this uni you can obtain a Postgrad diploma in Second Language Acquisition (half a masters), and then go on to finish the M Ed. This is pretty much what I did. I choose this path because I figured that an MA Tesol might sound too job specific if I decide to give up the English teaching thing and eventually go home and apply for a non-EFL style job.
I originally considered some of the University of Southern Queensland master's programs but figured that a two year Masters in Ed (a qualification that is not likely to be ever questioned) was better.
Also, I heard that with those more mainstream programs (like from the Uni of Pheonix and USQ) you have big class sizes and you don't get much personal attention. I had very small class sizes and was able to work really closely with my profs who helped me with drafts of assignments the whole way through. This made things much less stressful and helped me stay on track to graduate with honors.
If you want any more info then post here or PM me
Peace

University of Phoenix allows you to double up after you complete your first three courses. I have studied at both USQ and U of Phoenix both are good programs but Phoenix is obsessed with learning teams, which means that every class has both individual and team assignments. |

I'm not that interested in "learning teams".
I don't play well with others so that probably rules out Uni of Phx.
Is a Post-Grad diploma *really* half of a masters? Could I go back and get the other half, without starting over? |

Good question. I'd be interested to know this as well. |
