How much money did you pay to do your health tests for the new e-2 requirements? How long did it take? Where did you go? What tests were performed?

Don't pay a damn cent! If your emplyoyer wants you, they can pay for it. And if its a hagwon they will likely pocket your taxes, not give you a pension or medical. The least they can do is pay your health checkup Rolling Eyes

I've been asked to pay, and I've heard of heaps of teachers paying.

It's a new lawless Korea for foreigners. We have no rights.

I've had two done now. Both in Korean hospitals as part of my PS job. The first one was about 28,000 won. The second was a little more, but not much.
They were dead simple and I was done in less than an hour.
Pee on a strip.
Give some blood.
Eye test...read a chart.
Height and weight.
Cold stethescope on chest.
Questions...
How are your teeth? Good. check
How about bowel movement? Good. check
Sex? All the time brother, all the time. check
Psych eval. "Are you crazy." Nope. check
You are overweight. Do yo like soju. You have fatty liver. Have a nice day.

less than 20,000 (I think 16,000). LOL, at all the teachers having to fork over 50,000 or more just to be able to work.

If you want a full medical for your own benefit, thats a different story.

I know someone who paid 70,000. I flipped out when she told me, why would you pay that?

I paid $20 in Canada and didn't get one in Korea.

I just got back from Seoul University Hospital near Hyehwa station. My co-worker paid 100,000 a week ago. They just abandoned the cannabinoid test, so I only paid 70,000. They still did a urine test. The nurse said they were testing for liver disease and heroin. I had a chest x-ray, blood test, vision test, color blindness test, and height, weight measurements.

they did not really offer. when they told me the medical test was about 200$, i said i was broke and was not aware we had to pay for the medical test and thought all expenses like that were provided by the school. they did not argue at all and just paid.

i had:

eye exam
hearing test
height/weight
chest measurement (!!!)
5-min consultation with doctor (general questions)
x-ray
blood test
pee in a cup
