WTF is up with the Chinese? Most sexual partners of all countries - by a large margin. I thought they were down with the "no sex before marriage" crowd, a la Vietnam (which is at the bottom of the list). Are the men counting the pros they're going with or what? |
That China is a mystery outlier. How can that be? |

I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned on this thread yet, but basically sex becomes boring after about two years with the same person.
It's not that peoples libidos are going down. It's more that they are less interested in their partners sexually.
Sure the love and respect may still be there (and growing) but the sexual desire decreases over time. |

And what do you base that oh-so-scientific assumption on? Your string of precisely 2 year long relationships?
Sorry to burst what sounds like your very youthful, self-satisfied view of life, but most of us so uncool as to stick to the same partner for more than two years still have very satisfying sex lives. It doesn't take much effort to stop things from becoming boring.

I'm gonna blame it (Chinese mack-daddy-ness) on the population and then dismiss it because I'm a capitalist. |

I'm calling bull$hit on this one.
I'm not suggesting that the love and respect isn't there anymore.
But do you honestly have sex as many times as you initially did when you first started your relationship? And is it as exciting as it was when your first hit it?
Perhaps it is (but I'm still calling b.s. on that), but you do realize that you are not the norm.
And are you male or female, cause that too is an important factor. |

| The husband's too tired so the wife's got to piss in somebody else's mouth and mix the ejaculate of a strange man into her coffee. While it does have its merits, the Japanese work culture is destroying the traditionally-held concept of the Japanese family. |

Endo, what's the point in replying to your questions? If I disagree with you, someone who knows just as much about my sex life as I do apparently, then you dismiss everything I say as B.S.
You're also missing the point. While sexless couples are the norm here, they're not in Western countries, which is precisely why they were considered newsworthy to the Guardian editors and why so many people have bought Kawakimi's book in the first place. Ergo, attitudes to sex...wait for it...may well be determined by culture and circumstance, and complete disinterest and boredom not some inevitable result of familiarity all relationships are doomed to.

So you're trying to tell me that the sex in Western countries doesn't significantally decrease in marriages over time?
The problem may not be as bad as it is in Japan, but are you suggesting that married couples of say 10 years in the West are having sex as frequently as they were when they first met?
And again, are you female or male? |

| I'm curious who they interviewed in China. I heard that many of the men in HK (or anyone with money) often has many women on the side of the more poorer proximity. |

3 lines of text and 3 glaring language problems. If you're a native speaker, you need to take a long look in the mirror. |

| I think I read that the survey was done online, which throws all of the results. Of course, any time you survey people about sex, there's bound to be lying of some sort... |

Nope, never suggested that. What I wrote was in response to your saying that sex is boring for all couples after two years, remember?
And if I haven't said it explicitly already, I also wrote because I resent someone who seems never to have had a long-term relationship claiming to know so much about those people in them.
I fail to see how my being male or female is relevant.
