What is it about Korea? Every other rapist, killer, thug, or mafia hit man just happens to be a violent tard (according to the police). Here's a shortlist to get us started:

The man who attempted to abduct a teenage girl in an elevator yesterday.

The man who killed hundreds of people on that subway with that fire bomb.

The woman who killed several of her husbands after poking their eyes out with needles.

The man who slashed the face of a presidential candidate with a razor.

The man who recently admitted to abducting, raping, and mutilating the bodies of two young girls.

The freaks who set themselves on fire, stab themselves, or otherwise molest their own person to protest this, that or the other bullsh*t gripe-o-the-day.

In America, we call this sub-population of proto-humans "rednecks."

What will YOU do if a violent tard approaches YOU?

Think on it. Think on it much.

Although I take issue with your use of the slang term 'tards', it sure looks to me like people who do the sort of things you listed are mentally disturbed.

What would I do. Run away, either before or after dropping them or possibly stabbing them, and hope the police don't get involved no matter what happens. Person safety is still number 1 in my book even if the Korean Keystone Kops don't see it that way.

Or, the lack of competent mental health professionals in this country precludes a valid diagnosis, and the police simply couldn't give a spunk either way.

I was advised once never to get in a fight with a tard. They don't feel pain. They don't tick like you and I. Just run. Let them slip on their own drool and fall in front of a train.

Had two minor incidents with them ....

One guy tried to drag me off with him (I suspect to share a bottle of soju)
He grabbed my arm and tried to get me to follow him. I pulled away, but he kept coming....so I had to make haste and leave him in the wake.

Another guy tried (I'm not sure what he wanted other than to bother me)
I was waiting for the bus, this guy gets out of a taxi in front of me and then starts looking me up and down. I could tell he was mentally challenged, so I tried to just ignore him, but he would have none of that.
He stood about 6 inches in front of me demanding to know what I was doing. (with smelly garlic-kinchi breath and all)
He asked me where I was going, so I told him... then he tried to tell me that I was at the wrong bus stop and tried to push me over towards the street (to the other bus stop).

I had caught the bus here several thousand times, so I know it's the right one, but the guy just keeps pushing on me. After about 10 minutes, my bus shows up and I get on.... the guy got all embarrassed and tried to put 10,000 won in my pocket... Question

I should have just walked away when he first got out.. I knew he was trouble. Oh well, next time.

Koreans are always terrified of me because of my height and build. In 2 years and 8 months here, I've had one scary episode with a psychopath however. It's too uninteresting to detail here. Otherwise, I always win in Korea. If a Korean douchebag gives me static, knowing some hostile Korean phrases always takes them by surprise and gets rid of them sharpish. Examples:

죽고 싶지 않으면 즉시 입 닫아라!

입 다시 한번만 벌리면 내가 너를 아프게 죽인다

너는, 외? 조용하지 않으면 내가 너를 산산이 고장낸다 (gotta say, that's my fave...."You, WTF? if you don't shut up, I'm gonna smash you to bits" Laughing )

To Korea's immense credit though, Mack the Knife, and whilst I enjoyed your post, there's never any reason to feel unsafe here if you're a foreign male in my experience. I've traveled all over (and am familiar with Britain and America the most) and I feel I've much more chance of being mugged, attacked or shot there. But since Korean society is by its very nature the embodiment of sociopathic (since Koreans care for no-one but themselves and their families), and because of its crippling expense, and because there's a shortage of women, it sure produces psychopaths.

I'm pretty sure this means "Close your mouth if you want to die fast!"

Okay, cool. I was going off of Nationmaster stats (based on CIA World Factbook, 2007) which has it at 1.01 males for every female (meaning the female population is 99% the size of the male one - so not a massive difference in any case). Most interestingly IMO, if you look at those stats and go down the list and look for countries that just suck pure ass you'll notice they've all got more males, whereas kickass countries (US, Thailand, Switzerland, Italy) - with the important exception of North Korea - have more girls.

Clearly, tis better for countries to have more women than men if one's country is to avoid sucking! (largely)

Ah, yep. I was confused by your massively astute psychological assessment of a nation.

Is this really a serious post?

We're all adults here and it doesn't hurt anyone to show a little respect for other human beings. Mentally challenged people don't choose to be that way and they certainly can't help it. Compassion seems to be in short supply in this country and unfortunately, a lot of foreigners don't seem to be bringing any with them.
