I was under the impression that fingerprints were required to get a criminal background check and that is where they came into play in the process.

However, it appears that they are sending me my criminal background check without getting fingerprinted. Do they require fingerprints anyway? Do they need to be on any specific form?

I didn't even see fingerprints mentioned on the Korean embassy's website as a requirement. But I have seen lot's of talk of them being required. Anyone know the truth on this?

Peace

It depends on WHERE you are from and WHO is issuing the CRC.

Many of the folks from the states can get them on-line and then have an affidavit sworn at the Embassy in Seoul to meet the requirements.

If you are at still at home you need to get an apostille affixed to it.

Canadians, unless then have someone at home to do the running to the local station, have to send prints to the RCMP to get a check done.

I am not sure how the Brits are coping with it at the moment.

Similar differences exit for South Africa, New Zealand and Australia.
