My wife was surfing and told me about this - apparently it's every where.

everything is in Korean - If you want a translation ask someone else - my Korean sucks.

here's a news report and a blog with pics not fuzzy.

The news report says that they had sex, but...look at the pictures and figure it out for yourselves. I don't think Korean reporters are used to making such subtle distinctions in their reports. Laughing

Strangely, it doesn't say that the police are looking for the couple, just whoever put the videos up on the internet.

I believe it also says that the police think the video was staged and that "netcitizens" are shocked. Good job boys! Plan on seeing a lot more on this topic in the future. There is a very large population of young gays in Korea and unlike past generations many of them are not going to be marrying to keep mom happy. The next ten years will be an interesting time in South Korea regarding the issue of homosexuality.

irrelevant. Inappropriate behaviour in public should not be lauded, regardless of gender/orientation of individuals involved.

moreover, gays conducting PDAs in public is not going to change the average Korean's feeling on the issue of homosexuality and you're a bit more than naive if you think it will--exposure doesn't automatically equal acceptance (nor should it, really, but that's another discussion topic)

I couldn't have said it better. If it were a heterosexual couple, it wouldn't have generated this much buzz, but that doesn't mean its ok.

I don't want to see 2 people, regardless of gender, doing anything more than holding hands in public.

Actually, it will change the average Korean's feelings on the issue. Visibility does lead to higher levels of acceptance. Sodomy laws in western countries pertaining to homosexuals haven't just vanished because one or two law makers thought it was a grand idea. Will gay Koreans be accepted by the majority? No, but visibility will one day lead to a reduction in the level of discrimination gays encounter in Korea just as it has in the USA and other countries. They are just getting started in Korea and have a long road ahead, but they will make progress. Keep up the good work boys! And keep the videos coming.

Are you sure they were to gay guys, not just to Korean soldiers sharing that special friendship Korean soldiers enjoy in their barracks?

Absolutely, One thing that irritates me about some gays is that they seem to believe the same rules don't apply to them and that it's ok for example to grope/ continually sexually proposition someone in a bar. Its happened more than enough times to piss me off. Imagine the trouble I'd get in if I grabbed some girl by the snatch and and asked her if she wanted to go to the bathroom and suck the plums off me!
I dont mean to generalize, just making a point^
