It looks like the police are serious about drugs in Korea. Two guys were busted with Hash. The local police also tested a large group of foreign teachers at a local bar. |

when will people learn? if you can't survive without hash, if you are that addicted, then don't come to korea, or even asia for that matter. if you are not addicted, and can live without it, then do live without it. use your common sense. the penalties are harsh in asian countries regarding hash. don't smoke it, don't have it on your person. someone might report you. someone in authority might catch you.
no sympathy for these people. |

Slightly off topic but can someone help me out on this. I keep reading these threads about the cops testing people for drugs which, presumably means you submit a urine sample. What prevents people from simply refusing to give one the same way someone might refuse to give a roadside breath sample back home? Anybody know? |

Well, I don't really know, but I don't think I'd want to find out. After all, this is a country that will deport you just for suspicion (even if you're eventually found to be innocent). If I were to be bold enough to guess, I would probably figure they would just take you in and either force you to take it or deport you. We don't really have many rights to face accusations here. |

In Suncheon you say? Well, all I can say is that I'm glad I haven't been home for a visit for a long time. Was it at Elvis's that they did this mass piss test? Where did these guys teach? |

Unfortunately this is true for other countries as well as Korea- you don't neccessarily have to break any laws for the immigration dept of many countries to revoke your work visa- you can be declared 'undesirable' and told to leave. Of course you can get a lawyer and try to fight it, but that's pretty hard to do when you've already been tossed out of the country.
So again it's a case of 'not limited to Korea'; if you're going to work abroad, you have to know the score- their country, their rules. It may not be right, but that's just the reality of the situation for foreign workers in many countries. |

if you go through a breathalizer test here...it's great and efficient
I'm not a fan of drunk drinking and frankly, i think the west should adopt the korean way.

doing drugs in korea is AS RETARDED as driving drunk |

on the flip side though..
dont the police have anything better to do!!
I mean going around piss testing people to find a lead or arrest a foeigner isnt that PReTTY LAME!! shouldnt they be out acually looking for real drug dealers!!! or real criminals.. yes I know why let a few bad sheep get away.. no they shouldnt.. but seriously.. its pretty lame how this kind of small think makes headlines.. and we all say how bad it is blar blar..
but JESUS look at the same government officals who pass these laws..
they break them everyday!!! corrupted hyprocit politicians!!!!
yes this is the law here dont fight it.. but still WHAT BS!!
they want to make a big deal over smoking a few cones.. when they have bigger issues to fight which they dont!!!!
what ever!!!
this country is whacked!! and probably is the people were to smoke weed they might acually open their eyes and see that the governments are screwing them over big time!!! sometimes it takes weed to see the picture! |

but the crime rate in Korea is very very low, which is why they can afford to keep completely on top of 'the drug problem'.
I think it's very harsh, and there's nothing wrong with a smoke, but it's the law, you can't criticise them for sticking to it. |

NEXT B I T CH !!!
still waiting for you to tell me where you are from!
are you ashamed of your country? |
Your aggresive posting style does not change the fact that Italy has 50% more crimes reported to the police per year than Korea, despite only have 20% greater population.
Plus Korean crimes tend to be more related to unlawful transactions while Italian crimes are more victim oriented.
So, yes. In comparison to South Korea, Italy is crime infested. |
