I can't stand regular Mayo. It's just so bland. I'm dying for some Miracle Whip but have been stymied at every turn. Has anyone found any place that sells it?
Face it, Tuna Salad or Potato Salad without Miracle Whip? Why bother?
On a related topic: The Red Door shop in Itaewon, is it still open? I searched for it this weekend but was given bad directions. |

Good luck finding Miracle Whip. When it finally does arrive, we'll know Korea is a full first-world economy.
In the meantime, add vinegar (or mustard) to tuna salad and/or potato salad along with the mayo. It's the closest you can come, as far as I know. |

If you can't find the squeeze bottles on the shelf, look in the back fridge... |

Make sure you check the date on that jar before you buy...
BTW - The "Red Door" doesn't actually have a red door, just a red door frame. It's easy to miss.
There's another - certainly bigger, and probably better, overall - shop up The Hill towards What The Book, across from the juicy/hostess bars. |

When I was a kid in school, I always traded the sandwiches my mom made with Miracle Whip for my friends', whose mothers actually loved them and used real mayo.
Miracle Whip suuuucks. |

If by "suuuucks" you mean "is delicious and is far superior than dull and lifeless plain mayo" then yes, I agree with you 100%. |

Never heard of Miracle Whip but interesting name for mayo, I was expecting it to be something a bit grander with a name like that.
And I thought Red Door was a perfume.
So no help here I'm afraid. |

Try one of the Pakistani grocers. They put cilantro in all kinds of food so are likely to carry it. I hate the stuff myself, but am from Texas so it's hard to avoid. There's one Pakistani store, if you walk uphill along the main street in Itaewon past the Starbucks and then turn right. You'll see a couple of Russian clubs. Go past them. About a block further, on the left is a little store. I think it's called "International Foods" or something like that. They're a Pakistani store that also stocks a fair amount of Western foods as well (I found chili powder there and was really excited about that, though, alas, no Miracle Whip). Anyway, if they don't have it, they're really nice people and can probably point you in the right direction. |

I love the sticky kind myself, but make sure to PM me on Friday if you haven't gotten an answer by then. I'm planning to go again this weekend and will make sure to look for it for you. |
