I am new to the neighborhood and was wondering if anyone knows where a gym is in Haebongchon? I would rather not have to go to Itaewon and wanted to see if there was one closer to home. Thanks. |

There is a gym in HBC...Can't remember where but there is one...There is also Samwon in Kyeong-ri-dan which is opposite HBC...That might be also a good bet...
Go up the hill past the Korean army base and it should be on your right... |

Do you mean the hill that leads to the Hyatt Hotel? |

There is one at Haebangchon ogeori (up where u catch 402 bus)where tous les jours and ministop are. It's in the basement next to the police station and is 40,000 won/month. It's pretty decent. |

I went to check out the one suggested up by the police station. I didn't see anything but a Taekwondo centre. The ajuma at the shop across the street said there was one, but it's gone now.
I live very close to that area and would love if someone could direct me to a gym nearby. Otherwise, any other suggestions for a gym in the general area would be appreciated! |

there are two if you follow the road around from buddhas belly and istanbul restaurant, one is just past the church on the right in a basement, VERY basic and about 50k/month, if you walk 5 minutes further up the hill there is a place called Samwon fitness, pricey if you want to go by the month (90k) but pretty decent, they have classes etc
i saw a sign for one as you go up the hill towards the hbc ogari on the main road but from the outside it looks like a dump
i found 2 in itaewon, the basement of the hamilton, i tired it out this week but wasnt impressed (you can pay 5k/visit) and one near ali babbas, again a one room basic facility.
if you have the money and the time it may be worth going to myeong-dong and going to calif fitness or hurest, from hbc its a 3000 won cab ride or grab the 401 bus |
