Well, as a comparison, France in 1962 was a democracy, but that didn't stop various members and recent members of the French military from trying to assassinate De Gaulle.

Granted, that wasn't the official policy of the French army. But I don't know if it's alleged that bombing Jewish buildings was the official policy of the Argentine army in the 1990s, or just of a fringe nostalgist element(possibly aligned with the Iranians, according to the UJC link I posted).

Granted, you could wonder what Argentine military types, fringe or otherwise, would hope to gain, politically speaking, from bombing Jewish community centers. Then again, what would Hezbollah hope to gain by doing that?

I agree with StillNotKing that this list is a load of crap really. There are some really foul people who have not made the list. One wonders at the criteria.

Is that what SNK said? I thought his statements referred to Joo's posting of Al Khomeini's picture.

They did, but really, I can think of cult types that were far worse than any of these guys. David Koresh was a religious leader.

If one confines the category to "leaders of major world religions", it's a fair list.

Also, I get the distinct impression they only included Athuraliye Rathana for the sake of balance. Why him, and not all the American evangelists who want to start a massive war in the Mideast to bring about the eschaton? Rathana's views seem pretty indistinguishable from the views of anyone who wants to "crush" their nation's enemies -- including not a few posters on this board -- and the Tamil Tigers are, after all, a terrorist organization.
