Anyone had an experience of working with trainee KTs?

I've just been introduced to a trainee who'll be shadowing me in my HS lessons for the next 4-weeks. His English seems okay.

Just curious as to how these kind of things generally work. I'm assuming that he'll just operate in a similar capacity to my regular CTs i.e. handling translation etc. He says he's got some private academy teaching experience.

Any comments etc would be appreciated.

Well, bear in mind that these four weeks are all the training he may in terms of practical stuff. I'd try to give him the opportunity to do a few lessons, though he may find it very intimidating. Maybe you could get him just to do part of a lesson.

Make sure the KT knows that the best way to be a good KT is to bring in home cooking for your Foreign Teacher each day. Smile

Forget that... it'd be K-food. Sad

Tell him to bring you booze! Cool
