Hah. I liked the story, but do think you're severely exaggerating it.
At any rate, mine is driving just fine, and is not just faster, but has more features that I want, and less that I don't. |
My Caddy can do anything the Lada can. Was it my omission of that fact that made you miss the point or are you just being proud?
Enjoy your ride...you may want to pimp it out sometime. Also, enjoy your double garage for your Caddy and Lada. Take the Lada for a spin when you want some hair-blown-back fun, but pull out the Caddy when you have to get to work. |

| Well maybe there are mods to do these, but my "lada" (and I'm sorry I have to drop the analogy for a moment here) has a superior start menu, 3d desktop, file system, and software management system for starters... |

| I just put Ubuntu on my laptop (dual-booting with Vista) and it seems to be running well so far. For me, the main reason for trying Linux was to support the moves towards open source software and online repositories. |

Ubuntu is pretty noob friendly, but I didn't really like the feel of it. Felt like a faster, more solid but poop colored version of the old iMac. (Yes, it's easy to change it and make it look cool, but that first impression always stuck with me.)
Anyway, I'd encourage you to give try the live CDs of openSUSE and Mandriva. Not quite as much hand holding as Ubuntu, but still quite easy and just more fun in my opinion. You might find one of them so much to your liking that you can go open source completely. |

Demo, that is the best damn analogy I've ever read comparing Linux and Windows. Thank you.
