That's your credibility shot right there, buddy. You prefer other bands to Pink Floyd yet love and worship Radiohead? As they say, there's no accounting for taste....

They're already selling on the Japanese site but I have to wait 5 more hours for the tickets to start selling on the English site. I hope they don't sell out in the meantime! |

Says you...I'm entitled to my own opinion. I was comparing Pink Floyd to other bands of that era and not the current day era. I prefer 60s and 70s music and I truly don't believe they were the best band out there. I'd rather listen to "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway", "Exile on Main St.", "Trout Mask Replica", "We're Only In It For The Money", "Neu!", "Roxy Music" anyday of the week.
I didn't say that I worship Radiohead either, you are the only one who said that. The only one who is doing any band worshipping is you. Radiohead is one of the most consistent bands out there when it comes to their material and they will stand the test of time much more than metal bands.
Actually...I like Sigur Ros, Guided by Voices and Pavement more than Radiohead, so I can change that list around a bit. I'm sorry but you are the only one who sounds like a fanboy here. |

You bet your ass I'm a fanboy. I want to see the entire planet deafened, purified with Tool. It's a dictatorship. 
When I watch or hear Thom Yorke, I deeply sympathize with him for being so incredibly depressed. I don't wish him any harm (despite this pitiable and totally arrogant performance here). When I look at Maynard James Keenan, I want to be him. I wish it was me singing those songs. That's the mark of truly great music. Part and parcel of being a Rock fan is idolization. Do you wish you were the whining-like-a-baby, deeply depressed, unshaven, 5'5" and miserable Thom, seriously? He and his woeful music represent everything I seek never to be. |

I loved Tool back in High School and for most of my university days. Since graduating several years ago, I've stopped listening to Tool so much and started listening to Radiohead more.
It seems like Tool is still in the same place as they were back when they peaked with Aenima. Nothing wrong with that, but Radiohead seems to at least be constantly evolving.
However, Radiohead is one of those bands that I have to be in the mood to hear, like Sigur Ros or Type O Negative. |

| i've seen tool twice, in 1997 (after aenima) and in 2002 (after lateralus) and i don't really like to see maynard at the back of the stage... i understand that the band wants to showcase the other members and their live visuals, but when i go to a concert, i'm there to see the band and the singer rock the place... with APC, maynard is up front and centre, where a lead singer SHOULD be... also, tool's set lists are incredibly similar from night to night... they have a huge back catalogue - why not mix things up a bit? |

Yeah, the last time I saw Tool it was just Maynard facing a screen with "trippy" visuals on it. |

I didn't give you my favorite Beatles song. I said it was one of my favorites and I was just making conversation. Jesus, the uncivil riff-raff on here. Eddie Vedder!! HAHAHAHA! Most one-dimensional singer ever! Still much better than Yorke of course. That's not saying much, mind you. Nobody save the congenitally insane wants to listen to scrawny, unshaven little twerp cry like a baby. I don't dislike Pearl Jam actually, especially in comparison to a horrible shower like Radiohead, but compared to Tool, they're nothing and I'm sure would be the first to admit it.

Yesh, you use that hagwon line with devestating effect. I haven't taught in a hagwon since the last century. Are you an EFLTrainer?  What do you think of Keane?

Then you're totally clueless, in that case. Maynard is a remarkably versatile singer who sounds totally different from track to track (and band to band - see A Perfect Circle vs Tool).

It's impossible to decipher what he's singing about.
Here's an idea: why don't Radiohead fire Thom Yorke and replace his vocals on their songs with that of a baby being tortured? That's what it sounds like and they may save some cash.

Here are a few facts about Maynard James Keenan:
He's excellent at martial arts (see Mises' youtube vid above)
He's a winemaker - the very embodiment of sophistication
He's tough (been in the US Military)
He's artistic
He's big and strong
He's immensely charismatic, though admittedly difficult and pompous at times
He's funny (has done stand-up comedy). Admittedly Thom Yorke does comedy too, because people just look at him and laugh
He's sensitive, fiercely intelligent and down to earth
Maynard is the very reification of transcendent ubermenschen. Thom Yorke is a rather scruffy-looking fellow whose vocals consist largely of whining and crying like an injured animal and the side of the road. Maynard is the truck than ran him over. |
