As long as you are using the map in Korea and it says "Sea of Japan" and has Dokdo belonging to Japan, nothing else matters. |

One with Korea on the centreline is what people are used to seeing here^^. |

Actually, what can really confuse Korean kids is seeing a world map where Korea is NOT in the middle! I brought in a map to my 6th grade class with Europe and Africa central, the Americas on the left, and Asia on the right....80% of my 6th graders couldn't find THEIR OWN COUNTRY!
It astounds me that geography is not taught here...but perhaps I shouldn't be surprised, as all education at my elementary school has been suspended this week so that the students could spend 3 days practicing for Sports Day tomorrow. As I write at this very moment, the kiddos are practicing the tug-o-war. Really? This needs to be practiced??? |
