So the situation is that I purchased a re-entry permit, but will be extending my visa in October.
Is the re-entry permit still valid or will I have to pay for another re-entry permit at the time of extension? |

Your re-entry permit is good until the expiry date marked on it.
If you extend your visa your re-entry still has it's own expiry and that probably won't be the same as your ARC expiry.
If you don't plan to travel during the time frame between your re-entry permit expiry and extended ARC expiry then you have no problem.
(eg: permit expires Oct 15 and you extend your stay until Feb 2009. You can travel BEFORE Oct 15 without worry. You need a new re-entry permit to travel between Oct 15 and Feb 2009.
IF you do plan to travel, get a new re-entry permit when you extend your visa. It will save you running around later for it. |
