We all know that nobody gets drunk like middle aged Korean men. Right now, I saw it exhibited in a whole new and hilarious way. While it is common to see guys passed out on benches at 9pm or taking a leak on the sidewalk while swaying back in forth on a busy street, I saw a new one.

It was about 3:30am and I wanted a little snack. I went to the local Kimbap Chunguk. As I was walking around the corner of the bushes beside the restaurant, i was greeted with some middle aged man's backside. He was taking a dump in the flowers. One of the women who works in the restaurant saw, so she ran out and started yelling "Ajoshi! Ajoshi!" and something else that I can only assume meant "Please don't crap in my flowers!"

Whatever it was, it made the man run away, pants still around his ankles. I ordered my kimbap, waited for it, and left about five minutes later. When I walked around the corner of the bushes, there was the man, passed out face down on the ground beside the sidewalk, pants still around his ankles.

I've been here almost a year and seen some pretty funny things, but this guy takes the gold medal. It was one story that I thought needed to be shared.

How do you wake up in the morning to people walking by you and ever feel like a man again. As it was 3:30 A.M. this was probably a pit stop close to his home so people in his neighborhood would have seen him. I used to feel embarrassed doing the walk of shame home in the morning after an all nighter because I knew people cold tell by my messed up hair and blood shot eyes. So sad.

When I first got my cell phone in Korea, I got a great snapshot of a guy snoring loudly in a villa building (I was walking by outside, also drunk). He was sleeping on the stairs. As in, actually on the steps, at a 45 degree angle. I bet his back felt great when he woke up.

one night I was walking in a busy bar area and up in the distance was an ajoshi staggering towards me.


when he was ten steps away his handphone rang and he pulled it out of his pocket and opened it and said "yaboBLAAAWWWRGGHHH!!!!"


puked all over his phone and arm and clothes and all over the ground and so much! he must have ate a lot!

luckily I was far enough away to avoid.
