ok - here's one for the real pros out there -
is there a cable I can buy to connect an older external disk drive (cd and also a floppy) to a usb outlet on my mac? the externals are older but still work fine and I'd like to be able to use them on my mac sometimes, when, like now one drive is busy doing something and I could use an extra drive. but they have the old style connection, with all the plugs (don't recall the tech term).
so I'm thinking the cable would connect the drive on one end and have a usb connection on the other I can plug into my mac.
is it possible? |

Wouldn't that be a simple external E-IDE hard drive case?
Put the hard drive in the case and run the USB line to the computer. |

All depends on the interface.
These external drives could be SCSI, parallel, serial... no way of knowing, really, without further information from the OP. |

I thought that was a pretty good hint. If he knew enough to use SCSI drives, he wouldn't be posting this.
Anyhow... |

Try taking a pic of the plugs and posting it. Might be the easiest way to get an identification.
