I feel pretty safe in Korea. It could be worse.

Take a look at Japan's, Taiwan's and China's earthquakes. We don't have the occurance of tornados like we do where I'm from.

An occassional typhoon hits during the September months. They are damaging but most of Korean modern construction can protect from the brunt of the storms.

I'd rather be here than any other east Asian country.

I highly doubt that most korean buildings are even close to being able to withstand any major thing mother nature could throw at them.

this damages korea more than any natural disaster.

Actually, the low natural disaster rate directly corresponds with the high number of conservative Christians in Korea. After the missionaries started doing God's work here, God stopped the typhoons, earthquakes and locust plagues. Once the Buddhists and Atheists convert, Korea will finally stop getting yellow dust from China.

Utter nonsense. But if you live in JT's fantasy hierarchical world in which WASPs are the master race then this is all you need to know.

Ironic, considering you're a resident of a hierarchical fantasy world where Koreans are the master race.

Honestly, I think you and JT should get together and do a sitcom or something. It'd be like Dumb and Dumber, except you two would compete to see who could be the most illogically hateful.

Hate to break it to you but the WASP,s do run the planet.....sorry.

its not jetrash,s fantasy,its reality.
look at this lovely angry asian girl studying in a white university agrees with me, and is protesting against white supemacy this week.
good on her,it warms my heart.

if you dont believe this, komerican, who do you think runs the planet?
which race do your books tell you runs the planet, komerican?

africans?
asians?
eskimos?
latins?
the french?
KOREANS? Laughing

nope..white anglo saxons.

So sorry..its the anglo saxon hegemony, stupid, speaking the English language..

from running the worlds banks to deciding who to bomb next.

(actually I can see how that makes you feel angry and inferior, and makes me laugh a lot)
i know it will all screw up one day.at the moment though, looking at that "low life looser white guy "burger flipper" teacher dressed in scruffy clothes, with the three asian hotties hanging off him,its kinda fun.
Maybe one day it might be the chinese..who knows..but the f.cking reality is ,for now,who is it komerican?..yes,thats right. its the WASPs.

argue against that all you want.. i know you dont like it,but that dont make it untrue

Right, WASPs are the most powerful group of ethnic whites. That's why Irish, Italians, Russians, eastern Europeans, etc. try to copy their ideas and methods, not just Koreans.

But, reigning supreme over the world doesn't make them the master race. Here in Asia before the WASPs we had the Han Chinese who also reigned supreme over our world. It didn't make them the master race, at least in our minds, either.

By definition, you can only have a few supreme nations at any one time. That does not make other nations or other people worthy of the obvious contempt and loathing you have for Koreans.

The Korean exporting economy is a marvel compared to Cuba's, but I have no contempt for Cubans because I'm fully aware that the forces of history and geography have a way of dictating a nations fate not the glamorized Hollywood version of history, where "honorable" westerners nobly went out and altruistically "gifted" the world, which is a pure fantasist's view of the world.

so we finally agree..im not living in a dream world.
wasps run the planet today as we write this.
in the past,in this region, the chinese ran asia.
we agree.
i know you and the protesting asian girl (wearing levis holding up a sign writtenin english outside an american college which her asian daddy breaks his balls for working in hyundai) hate this, and you frantically look foreward or backwards to see some other reality.

you can argue and hate us,and cry its not fair, but we,being at the top of the pile, really laugh(my posts are mainly just joke play acting/ timewasting, inc my name, avatar etc)
life is fuc.ing f u n from this position

the teacher with the three asians hotties hanging off his arm illustrates this so well,to the asian mens understandable anger.
hes having fun...no suit or shiny shoes, tidy hair etc, for him to indicate who is boss race from the boss world.

we are collapsing into decadence...and why not..the romans did the same at the end of their run at the top.
hell,break out the bollinger darhlingg

love and peace jettttttttttttttrash

Man, how'd this thread get hijacked?

I've felt the one small earthquake back about a year or so ago. My first ever.

Lack of apostrophes, and inappropriate use thereof, is the only concern in SK.

sorry matthew.
most korean buildings would be OK in a minor equake, but their anti earthquake measures are not up to japanese standards, japan req all buildings to be eq measured (floating on dense rubber pads, moving steel pin joints etc)although in fairness, japan does have more experience of earthquakes.
the level of corruption in the constuction industry here in korea, is high..ie you pay for steelRF (gives the concrete strength ,but HIDDEN inside the concrete once poured)
you pay for its intall..but years later you might find it never existed.
you paid the korean gentleman, and he never supplied it.
the inspector is paid off on site
this means a lot structures would fail even a small earth quake.
public buildings are the worst,as the corruption loop(inspection, sign off and commision by same authority)is open to massive fraud.
when steel prices are high, one can rake off hundreds of thousands of $off a project, into ones pocket.
i think many older road overpasses in seoul would collapse..tho more recent ones some do have rubber floats.

hope that answers your q

It's been done... it was called. "All In the Family" and the staring boor was everyone's favorite boor.... Archie Bunker and his counterpart, Meathead.

I'll leave it to you guys/gals to figure out which is which.

They have few NATURAL disasters, but there are plenty of engineering disaters to point to, Sampoon Department Store and Sungsu Bridge collapsing are only two examples. Then there were events like the helicopter that crashed (and burned) into the bridge crossing the Han by Technomart in Kangbyeon.
