Three questions:

Has anyone taught at the GnB school in Cheonan? Feedback, good and bad please.

(2) If you've taught at a GnB school, did you have to deal with their recruiting agency, "Teacher's Road" (yes straight to hell)? I think you have to go through them.

(3) Anyone care to share their nightmare experience trying to get an E2 under the new regulations? Mine is too long to detail here and I still don't know how it's going to turn out.

Thanks

6 trips to the local immigration office . 3 of the six trips with Korean Nationals providing translation assistance. Each time, there was a problem with a document: not detailed enough, not stamped enough, not sealed enough..get the picture. Much like the "Soup Nazi"-.."No Visa..for you". The 6th time was the charm.

I taught in a GnB school in my last job. Currently, I've had no problem with Cheonan immigration (which is really Daejeon immi) and I got my Alien card within 2 weeks of arriving.
There are GnB schools all over the place. To be honest, GnB's are just cash cows. There's not lots of real teaching involved. This might be different at different schools but the prime directive at my hogwan seemed to be to push the kids through the books as quickly as possible so their parents would have to buy new ones. It's a pretty easy gig if you just go with the flow. If you really feel the need to get some genuine career satisfacion out of it you maight be in trouble in that regard. My advice is to just ride the waves and pocket the money, and wait unitl your contract is up and look for a more serious thing, maybe public school?
