Saw this on Craiglist (again)
Seen the guy advertising a few times always wondered if he got any business.
A good deal or not? What is his markup?

Not that great of a deal. If he gets the best deals on his parts then his markup is quite high.
If he's smart about where he buys then there's no way he's selling at a loss. |

At 1,550,000 for the system alone he is not selling for a loss. No mention of PSU so you have to assume it's a cheapy. You can price this out on Danawa for about 1.2 or 3, I would guess. It's not new so the price is way TOO high. You could build this system BRAND NEW for 1.3 or less...I wouldn't consider buying this rig at anywhere near that price. |

I think I could build the same thing for no more than 1.1mill.
So if the guy is making about 400,000 per build, then I don't see what's so wrong with that. You're getting all those games and an OS too.
He's not exactly giving it away but I don't think he's being too greedy. Of course, I wouldn't buy it or advise my friends to. |

He should put it in this case if he really wants to sell it.
Just priced the system out on Danawa and it came to 1,063,000 and that's w/ 2 - 250 hdd's and a 60,000 PSU. So if you want to pay 525,000 for a pirated OS and a few games that anybody can download themselves then...BY ALL MEANS....CHUMP! |

The margin is for the guy to source the parts, build it, load the software, box it up and arrange delivery. A few hours work there........ I think his margin is a little high myself, but total rip-off high..........?.........maybe to those who could do the same job themselves it is rip-off high.
BTW, I saw a vendor in Sunin Plaza last week doing a new Q6600/8800GT/P35/2GB system for 850,000...........no brand names given but a helluva deal if you're not picky about brands. |
