Now, I've had my share of nervous moments in taxis, especially late at night when the traffic is light and they go hurtling towards an intersection at a speed that would put a fighter pilot to shame.

This morning's experience, however, takes the cake. This guy was too busy fiddling with his hair to watch the road properly. I think would be an aspiring racing driver if he wasn't so ancient.

So if you were out and about just outside Itaewon at about 0730 this morning, you may have seen a taxi travelling erratically at high speed, with a white guy in the front passenger seat -- face pressed to the window and mouthing the words 'HELP ME, PLEASE. THIS BLOKE'S A NUTTER!' -- that was me.

Lucky you are still alive, eh mate?

Everytime I take a taxi and I arrive at my destination safely, it feels like a miracle. Taxis here are truly a liability.
