100 Koreas. It's almost exact. I love pointing out that we have a much smaller population too.

Yeah, I enjoy seeing their faces when I tell them I can fit all of Korea between my city and NYC... which is in the same state.

Total area of Canada (9,984,670 square kilometers) divided by total area of South Korea (99,646 square kilomters) is 100.201 (approximately). If you include the total area of North Korea (another 120,540 square kilometers) as part of Korea, then your answer would be 45.347 (approximately).

Doesn't it remind you of the Geography lesson scene in The King and I?

You can tell them over and over that 100 South Koreas will fit into Canada and they will still have absolutely no concept of how big it is. People are amazed when they find out I'm Canadian and have never been to Niagara Falls or the Rocky Mountains. They act like there's something wrong with me.

I like telling them it takes a week to cross canada on a motorcycle, coast to coast.

Or, that we have 5 time zones.

Or, that I have travelled for a month in Canada and not seen another person. That one they find unbelievable, but once you get up near the tree line, there ain't no one there.

No worse than when I was on a field trip to Canada with one of our classes and the co-teacher wanted to take a quick drive over to Toronto on Saturday afternoon to check the nightlife there. We were in Calgary (heading to Banff on the Monday).

I keep telling my teachers I want to go see Vladivostok. They say "You've already been to Russia." I tell them I might want too see both the face and er, rear, of the largest country on earth.
