|
|
Hey. I was supposed to get a new visa last week, but didn't get my issuance number until yesterday, so I popped over to Japan to buy myself another 30 days.
I need to have an interview in order to get my visa, but I am having trouble getting a hold of anywhere in the States to get it done.
I've called Seattle, Houston and NYC. For some reason, I get get through. I'm using the numbers I found on the yahoo yellow pages.
Seattle: 206-441-1011
NYC: 212-692-0399
Houston: 713-961-0186
These numbers just keep ringing and ringing. Yes, I am calling within business hours. hmmm.... maybe it's because I am using Skype. I don't know.
Any advice? Anyone already have an interview in the States? Are there special numbers to call?
Darn, this frustrating. Why can't anything be easy??????? |

Also called the one in Houston since it's in my area and they do answer the phone eventually. Using Skype shouldn't cause the problem.
If you had a previous E-2, why do you need an interview? Only those who had an immigration "black mark," or suspicious CRC would be required the interview. Oh, well; your business. |

I have a black mark. three years ago I overstayed my visa by 6 hours. My boss said she had taken care of it, but hadn't.
Thanks for the numbers. Darn, the Seattle number doesn't even ring. |

I just got off the phone from the consulate in Houston. They said that I can't make an apointment with having already sent in my paperwork.... including my passport.
BUT she said that If I show up on a monday, I can have a my interview within 2 days and I could get my visa on the same day as my interview.
She also told me I could go to any US consulate I wanted to, not just the one in my home state.
That kind of goes against everything I have been told so far..... I hope it's not dodgy. gonna call Seattle in a little while and see what they say.... |

I was using skype, so I didn't need it... but I must have done something wrong because I got through just fine just now. I set my alarm clock for 3am and was sleepy when I called.
Seattle said that I did, in fact, need to set up a date for the interview and the reason I didn't have to in Houston was because they aren't so busy there.
Also, I was told that I CAN go to any consulate I want.... maybe I should try Honolulu. |

The consulate in Houston didn't even interview my friend. He just payed and they told him to come and get it 2 days later. I'll be going there in about a month or so. We'll see..... |
