I am working near Hongdae. The owner of the apartment I was living in decided to sell it, so I am now living in a hotel. My employer can find me an apartment but the places they offer are unacceptably small and not suitable for an adult to be living in (they showed me one that was 80sqft). I've looked and looked, I've emailed and called the few agents who post on here and on craigslist with no results, or they simply do not return my calls or emails.
I'd prefer some place in Shinchon or Hongdae, but am open to living near Itaewon if I have to. Can sign a 1 year lease, 10mil+ key money, monthly rent 1-2.5mil. Looking for something reasonably sized (700-1000sqft), with wooden floors, and preferably no furniture. I am available to move in starting on this upcoming weekend. 1-3 bedrooms is fine, no room mates, quiet building preferred.
I can be reached at [email protected] or by PM. |

Ask your employer to type you up a note in Korean, explaining who you are, who you work for, how much is in your budget, etc. Then take the note to every real estate agent in the areas outside of Hongdae. That's how I found my housing here. You will eventually find something.
Look in Sangsu, Hapjeong, Dongkyo-dong. You will eventually find a real estate agent who will have something, but you will also most likely encounter Xenophobic ones as well. Don't take it personally. I think your boss is really busy and can't be assed to be more thorough in a search for your housing. |

A note about online apt. places in Korea (although that link may be different): they are almost never real places. They put good deals online to get you into their office, then try to pass off a bunch of crap.
Bait-n-switch at its finest.
As for that site, Kenny, this photo almost made me puke:
