So they just randomly pick luggage and put it in... some unknowing passenger had this happen and walked out of the airport with it! What if this happened to us, and we came to Korea and got busted with it?

I fly through Tokyo a lot, as do many of us!

Quote:
(CNN) -- A passenger who landed at Tokyo's Narita airport over the weekend has ended up with a surprise souvenir courtesy of customs officials -- a package of cannabis.

A customs official hid the package in a suitcase belonging to a passenger arriving from Hong Kong as part of an exercise for sniffer dogs on Sunday, Reuters.com reported.

However, staff then lost track of the drugs and suitcase during the exercise, a spokeswoman for Tokyo customs said.

Customs regulations specify that a training suitcase be used for such exercises, but the official had used passengers' suitcases for similar purposes in the past, domestic media reported.

Tokyo customs has asked anyone who finds the package to return it.

No.

Many of us fly to Korea via Japan, which is where this happened, and will be flying home (and back) soon.

So Narita is the airport with the drug-sniffing dogs that can't sniff out the drugs? So noted.

I'm just glad he was arriving from Hong Kong instead of departing to Singapore.

I sure hope the poor beggar who belongs to that suitcase wasn't headed for a country with mandatory death penalty for drug trafficking.

Could you imagine opening your bag to find a nice sack of green...

Whoever got it has some insane pot karma.

what's more unsettling is how many of you are all "hyuk hyuk, I wish it happened to me".

Why? Because people use marijuana? Dear lord, run for the hills.

no, because people act like it would be, like, so cool to find illegal drugs, provenance unknown, in their suitcase.

Must not be the dankness if the dogs can't find it. Maybe the officials didn't want to risk losing their good nugs.

Well you know the excuse to say when you are caught with pot in your luggage:

"It ain't me governor, it was the drug unit in Japan."
