So, I recently checked out both Zaras. There is one in Myeong-dong and one in Coex. Needless to say, I wasn't too overly impressed. Most of the sizes were waaaaay too big for me. The smallest I saw in most items was a US size 6, which is UK size 10...I saw only one pair of shorts that were US size 2...They looked pretty darn big to be a size 2. I found one miniskirt I liked and asked the sales girl if they had it in a size 0, 1 or 2. She said I must be like a waist size 24. I said yes, I am. I can even wear 23 if I can find it. She said sorry, 6 was the smallest size available.
Not to mention, the extra small blouses and tops looked big to be an extra small size. And...they had these huge...I mean huge floor length dresses designed for a giraffe to wear. I saw a Korean girl looking at them like "What"????? Talk about fugly, fugly. I say Zara won't be popular here in Korea, unless it's with the foreigners. Just like Mango...too big sizes.
I'll just stick with Korean stores. Even though many Koreans are not as small as they used to be, they still make the clothes for Korean shops to fit smaller...so I'll stick to that. Many Korean girls are not 6 feet tall either, so I don't know what Zara was thinking when they got those giraffe tent dresses in there. The tent look is not attractive in my opinion. I also found the stuff at Zara to be quite plain and not trendy/princessy. The Koreans I saw didn't look too impressed either. |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is not the first place they've opened stores in Asia, right? They have shops in maybe Japan or China or Hong Kong (yeah I know it's China, but..). So why would it be any different here? What's gone wrong? Is this the only place in Asia where they've gone for the Big and Bigger market? If so why?
Boyfriends of princesses want to know.

I knew they had one in Hong Kong and Shanghai, but I didn't check it out in those places. I heard Singapore has one, too. I did go to H&M in Hong Kong and wasn't impressed by that shop either. Maybe Korea just wants to sell big and baggy stuff. Oh, and I've started to notice lately that Korea isn't as good for shopping a it used to be. Actually, Japan, Hong Kong, and even Shanghai have cuter, more princessy, trendy things. Maybe Korea is turning into the USA when it comes to shopping. The last time I went to Myeong-dong was the first time I was NOT impressed with the shopping there. Maybe being on vacation in Hong Kong last year spoiled me. |

Oh my gosh I like, so totally agree with you! I was looking for a skirt that is shorter than my ass-crack, and the sales girl was like, you don't have a very long ass crack. And I was like, yeah, it's only 15 cm long, or 5.9 inches.
Also, I am like a size -4, with a 12 inch waist (almost double the size of my ass crack) so everything looks out of proportion and I just don't get it, why isn't everything about me??? What about MEEEEE?
Anyway the sales girl was like, "You're so pretty!" And I was like, "No! You're so pretty!" and she was like, "Nuh-uh! You're prettier than me!"
Not to mention, they don't sell matching dog clothes, only giraffe clothes, and I was like, this is SO pissing me off! If I wanted clothes for my giraffe I would get them tailored at Versace, y'know? Anyway if they did sell dog clothes they would probably be WAY too big, coz I have like this totally minature dog with a Prada carry-case, and my dog is like so totally smaller than your dog!
Anyway I pretty much don't recommend this store to anyone, unless you are looking for something in normal sizes, or something totally non-foofy. And if you ARE looking for that, like screw you! You're not a *real* princess. |

First of all, let me express my sincere sympathies. I know how disappointed you must have been. Cheer up sunshine! I heard that Paris Hilton would love to come back to Korea soon.
Secondly, let me recommend those baggy elephant ass pants (you know the ones!) that apparently haven't caught on here yet. Not only will you be a trend-setter, but they will also help hide what God didn't give you. A win-win situation. |

| Zara is popular in Osaka. Girls here are definitely still wearing skinny jeans, too. |

Maybe the sizes in Osaka fit smaller. I just saw some online reviews for the Zara in NYC, and someone said they have a small frame like me, and the dress shirts were fit small and perfect for her. Another girl said the pants were made Euro-tiny. I guess Seoul's Zara shops just decided to have big, baggy crap styles. I was very unpleasantly surprised by Zara here because I, too, expectd the styles to fit Euro-tiny. If I go to Lotte dept. store or other dept. stores here and buy European clothing, it fits nice and snug. Zara here must be geared towards bigger people and very tall people. I could use their dresses to make curtains for my house. |

Oh, speaking of Osaka, I found the fashions there to be awesome! I definitely loved shopping there. They have cuter, more princessy styles in Osaka than in Seoul. Same goes for Hong Kong, Shanghai and Taipei. I actually bought a size 0 miniskirt in Hong Kong last year from the Roxy shop. I love Roxy! |
