I'm somewhat desperate to solve this problem. Perhaps you can help me out.

I'm recording music on my 3-year-old Toshiba Satellite laptop and have a problem when recording mutiple tracks. I'll record a track, and it's fine. But when I record a second track, there's a very noticeable split-second delay in time, so it doesn't match up to the first. As a result, mutlitrack recording is impossible. What gives? Is it a problem with my sound card? Something else?

Obviously it's not the program itself (Acid 6.0) as I've tried other recording software and have found the same issue exists.

I've defragmented my computer, ran a registry fixing program, checked for spyware, deleted lots of programs to free space, and the problem still remains.

Any thoughts?

the problem you're experiencing is called 'latency'... try downloading an ASIO driver... don't worry, it's probably an easy fix...

Thanks for the help.

I downloaded ASIO4ALL and restarted and no change.

Then I downloaded Digidesign Drivers 7.0 -- I think it installed, but it was all in Korean so I'm not sure -- but still no change.

I'm probably doing something wrong... any ideas?
