I was wondering if there was an option to disable avatars when I am logged on. I personally think they are annoying as hell, and because I just moved into my parents house and am using a computer with a gigantic computer screen in my living room. So a picture of semi-pornographic women and other weird stuff is not what I want displayed around-- Especially when the pictures are huge.
I don't really see the point of them, although a couple are pretty funny. But I only laugh once, the second time not so much  . I could understand if the avatars are like a small headshot of yourself, but otherwise it just doesn't seem practical.
So yea, can I disable them from my screen? Thanks a bunch guys! |

There are at least 2 or 3 posts that are only a day old about this, look around for them, it is easy to disable though.
Semi-pornographic? Are you a Mennonite? |

Poor IncognitoHFX tried that for a while but people just took the piss out of him and he had to change it!  |

| there are hundreds of users here, we shouldn't all have to disable images just because a few blokes can't find work-appropriate avs. |

heh, i was half expecting responses like that. Listen man, I'm a 21 year old male without a girlfriend-- you think i've got an objection to porn? lol
The point is that i'm usually in this forum in a semi-public place, so it's kinda annoying to see a gigantic picture of a hot asian. If I wanted to see it, I would look for it online. It's just not what I want to see when finding out about ESL jobs, know what I mean?
I love the female anatomy more than anyone, but I wouldn't want to see a naked chick when I'm reading a textbook, or a novel. It's not just those avatars, but there are a lot of really annoying avatars in general. Most are fine, but there are a few that aren't.
It's a TEFL forum, so I wanna see TEFL info --nothing more.... Makes sense, right?

Actually, this is a forum about life in Korea and things regarding Korea. So, you might want to try the job discussion forum if that is what you want. |

Actually, this is a forum about life in Korea and things regarding Korea. So, you might want to try the job discussion forum if that is what you want. |
ugh..... I think the title of the main forum is "korean job discussion forum" not "korea forum". It covers that as well, but the main point of the forum is to help other people who are going abroad to teach english ("ESLCAFE.COM?").
My topic related to the forum in general, thus 'general discussion' was the best location. |

are you kidding me? How does asking how I can remove a picture that causes my parents/family to ask "um, mike, what are you doing?" lead to a sense of entitlement? I was asking a question about how to remove avatars and this is the response I get?
Do you have nothing better to do? Give it a rest man, I was asking a question.
Why are there so many people that need to flame here? I thought this was a forum for helping people.

Actually, you said you want to see TEFL info and nothing more, so no, it doesn't make sense. And, if that is what you want, you should probably keep clear of the general discussion forum. That's why we have a tech forum, a buy/sell/trade forum and a current events forum. It isn't just about TEFL. |
