I had free time between 7 and 8 this evening and I noticed a great storm was heading right for us so I headed to the park across the street to watch.

in the park there is a large gazebo so I stood under it and watched a lot of amazing lightening and heard a lot of powerful thunder and experienced strong winds and a huge cloud burst of rain.

a few minutes after I arrived, 3 teenage boys and 3 teenage girls joined me in the gazebo. after the usual questions to me they said today was the birthday of one of the girls and one of them was holding a large cake.

they sang happy birthday then asked me if I would like some cake. I asked how as they had no forks or knives or spoons or plates.

one guy grabbed a handful and shoved it in his mouth then I did and everyone else did. we were all covered in cake and we started shoving loads into each other's mouths and doing a lot of laughing.

meanwhile the storm raged all around us. it was so much fun!

I got to my class at 8 and at 9 when I went home the storm was all gone.

today I love Korea

Which part of the country was this in? It was absolutely perfect weather down in Yeosu today. Clear blue skies, no haze, no pollution, hot but not humid. The hills and fields were lush and green, everyone was happy and eating icecreams.

yep - first rumblings, we popped a bottle of merlot & headed up to the roof loungers. Sat out about 20 minutes, watching the lightning around Suri & Suji, before the rain came down.

Miss storms from the Gulf Coast!

In Chungju right around 8:00 last night this lump of black came over the mountains and opened up into one of the most ominous looking storm fronts I've ever seen. I took pictures of it, it was that freaky. There was some crazy lightning and wind but not a drop of rain.
